The Kensington-Normal Heights Library is outdated and overcrowded. The city’s Library Master Plan recommends a new, modern library of 25,000 square feet for our area, and the perfect location at 35th and Adams Avenue is available now. We need to act quickly to ensure that the build at that location serves the community, including space for a library and housing for families (the library master plan recommends that all future library buildings be mixed use).
A new modernized library would allow for the expansion of services to address the diverse needs of our community.

Normal Heights for Smart Growth, Normal Heights Community Planning Group, Normal Heights Parks and Recreation Group, and The Selby Team have banded together to work with the City Parks and Recreation Department to accelerate the installation for a community garden at Ward Canyon Park.
Right now the community produced plan is being compared with the plan the city has on file to ensure there are no conflicts between the two plans.
The
Selby Team
has generously committed $5,000 in matching funds! This means every dollar you
donate
will be matched, doubling your impact on bringing our community garden to life.

Infrastructure Survey

The City of San Diego is collecting community input through in-person events and
an online survey
to identify where improvements to infrastructure are most needed. The information collected will
help the City plan for where, when and how infrastructure improvements will occur
over the next five years.
This is an important opportunity to be heard as Normal Heights has been historically underserved by capital improvement projects that maintain streets, storm water systems, fire stations, and street lighting.
The next workshop will take place at Logan Heights Library (567 S. 28th St.) on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Please click the link below to RSVP.
