Library Update

Illustration by Paul Coogan using MidJourney

Ideas for a location to build a new Kensington-Normal Heights Library were discussed with SD Library Director, Misty Jones at the most recent meeting of Friends of the Kensington-Normal Heights Library. Ms. Jones expressed interest in the idea of leveraging the location at 35th and Adams Avenue and will discuss the option with the City Real Estate Office.

A new modernized library would allow for the expansion of services to address the diverse needs of our community. Here are some things you can do to make Normal Heights noticed.

  • Check out books and other materials. Large circulation speaks volumes.

  • Attend story-time and other programs.

  • Visit the library. Just entering the building increases the door count.

  • Engage with librarian. You would be surprised what they know!

  • Check out a pass to a State Park - It's free.

  • Purchase books from the friends of the library. It's a good deal.

  • Sign the petition. Every submission reminds the city we want this.

Thank you for making Normal Heights a better place to live, play, and work! If you would like to support our efforts, you can make a tax deductible donation via PayPal.
